"A unique feature to the Garmin Marine Network is the addition of the GDL 30 Weather Data Receiver. Through a partnership with XM WX Satellite Weather, mariners can-for the first time-access real-time graphical weather data for the United States directly on the GPSMAP 3010C or 3006C without the need for a separate PC interface. XM WX Satellite Weather is the same leading, analytical weather technology and data provided to television meteorologists across the United States. It relays a continuous transmission of 20 different types of graphical weather information that can be overlaid on the chartplotter, including current conditions, NEXRAD Radar, storm cell size, speed, and direction, sea surface temperature, and wave data. NEXRAD Radar coverage extends up to 200 miles from the US coast and can provide a lifesaving early warning for those fishing offshore. There are two service plans starting at $29.99 per month that are targeted specifically as the "Fisherman" or the "Sailor" plan and a deluxe "Master Mariner" plan at $49.99 per month. Garmin also offers the GDL 30A-which provides 120 channels of XM Satellite Radio along with the weather data for an additional $6.99 per month. The unique audio-channel interface on the 3010C and 3006C allow for easy connection to an on-board stereo. GDL 30 comes complete with satellite antenna, power cord, and network cable.
